Text licence

The texts published on the website ali.ong belong to the association Animal Law Italia ETS (ALI), an Italian third-sector entity (ETS) with registered office in Bari, via R. Dicillo 1, and are attributable to their respective authors, where indicated. They are covered by the Creative Commons “Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives” licence and may therefore be used, in whole or in part, provided that it is exclusively for non-commercial, personal or educational purposes, in compliance with the following indications and limitations.

  • Texts may be reproduced and shared online and in print, provided the source is cited, in the format “Article originally published on the Animal Law Italia website (www.ali.ong)” or with similar wording;
  • For texts where no author is indicated, it must in any case be specified that they are taken from this website, adding the note: “Source: Animal Law Italia (www.ali.ong)” or similar;
  • The source and author attribution must be clear and visible, leaving no doubt about the attribution of the content — for example by using the same font and size as the main text;
  • Photographs whose copyright is held by ALI are marked “Photo: Animal Law Italia” or “Photo: photographer’s name/Animal Law Italia”. The photos in our Flickr channel are all covered by copyright. They may nevertheless be copied and used for personal or educational purposes, provided the source is clearly and visibly cited in full.

If in doubt, or to request clarification, please contact us at contatti@ali.ong.

Trademark and logo

The Animal Law Italia trademark and logo may be freely reproduced alongside print and online articles, television reports and other editorial content covering the association’s activities.

Their use is freely permitted without prior authorisation, provided that:

  • they are not associated with messages that disparage the association;
  • it is clear and unambiguous that the informational message comes from a party other than the association.

The logo and/or trademark must be used faithfully, with no modifications or adaptations and with no loss of quality or colour variations.

Please note: misuse of the association’s distinctive signs (unauthorised use), especially where intended to mislead or confuse the reader/viewer into believing that a communication comes from Animal Law Italia, will be rigorously prosecuted under the law.

Commercial use

The use of texts and images owned by the association for commercial or otherwise for-profit purposes is permitted exclusively against fair remuneration, to be agreed case by case with ALI as the exclusive holder of the publication rights, by writing to: contatti@ali.ong. Please note that a lack of reply does not amount to consent.

Commercial purposes include print and online publication, including websites where content is freely accessible but advertising is present.

Image ownership

Images and audiovisual content are the property of their respective authors, unless explicitly attributed to the association. Their use is governed by the licence agreements with the rights holders, which may prohibit or limit their reuse on other platforms.

Wherever possible, ALI credits the authors of the images used on this website; in any case, most images come from iStockphoto by Getty Images, We Animals Media, Unsplash and Canva.

Some articles may contain links to external websites to offer insights, further reading and generally for informational purposes. In any case, ALI is not responsible for their availability, their content, or the products and services offered by third parties.
